Jackie Joins Laureus Sport for Good at Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
Jackie joined Laureus World Sports Academy members Morne Plessis and Edwin Moses today at Hong Kong Stadium for the Rugby Sevens to help promote the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. (Rugby sevens is a variant of rugby football in which there are only seven players per side.) Jackie visited with youngsters, dotted the Eyes of the Lion, and received a Laureus Friends and Ambassadors Certificate.
Jackie met Laureus Academy member Edwin Moses while in Banda Aceh during his post-tsunami visit in April of 2005. Jackie and Edwin discussed a collaboration between the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and Jackie's own charity work.
Also attending the event were youngsters from Hong Kong's Operation Breakthrough, which targets at-risk youngsters and utilizes sports to help lead the children away from criminal activities. Operation Breakthrough works in conjunction with the Hong Kong Police Department and is one of 39 projects supported worldwide by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
