Charity Mission to Guizhou, China

Keeping a promise he made over 40 years ago to help others in need, Jackie has completed another charity mission, this time to several remote and poverty stricken areas in the mountainous Guizhou Province of China. During four grueling days of travel, sometimes driving for hours over bumpy dirt roads, Jackie visited several of the more than dozen schools his Dragon's Heart Charity has built in some of the most destitute areas of the countryside. He attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new constructions, ground-breaking ceremonies for schools yet to be built or renovated, visited a drug rehabilitation center, met with government officials, and was greeted by thousands and thousands of people wherever he went. He led an auction which generated over $1 million RMB (US$125,000), met with teachers and students, and delivered warm coats and school supplies. He was also made an honorary principal of a college and given the title of Cultural Ambassador by the Chinese government. During the activity-packed and sometimes emotional four day trip, Jackie wasted no time; he gave countless interviews to the press and met with business associates to plan further philanthropic missions.
