Jackie on Dragon's Heart Charity Mission in China

On the evening of September 16th, Jackie held a charity concert in Changchun, China to benefit the local Dragon’s Heart Foundation orphanage. Ten thousand people attended the concert, and Jackie sang several songs, among them “Endless Love” from The Myth. On September 17th, after visiting the Dragon’s Heart Hope Middle School in Changchun, Jackie, his staff,  and the team of Dragon’s Heart volunteers flew to Wenshang, China. The next day he attended the opening ceremony of another Dragon’s Heart primary school and was treated to several spirited performances by the talented students. Jackie then visited an elderly center where he donated wheelchairs and warm clothes to the residents and later ate lunch with them. He also visited a school for the deaf where the students treated him to a performance and then accepted donations from the Dragon’s Heart Foundation. In the evening Jackie attended an auction to benefit the local schools and elderly centers. Hundreds of people packed into the auditorium to see Jackie and bid on his merchandise. They were even treated to Jackie acting as auctioneer, walking the “runway” to model his clothes, and singing a song for them! The event raised RMB 2.3 million (about USD $300,000) and Jackie was overjoyed with the results.

On September 19th, Jackie and the Dragon’s Heart crew, including a group of students from Hong Kong’s Australian International School, visited Zaozhuang City’s  Dragon’s Heart Primary School and the Dragon’s Heart Middle School where students were presented with school uniforms, shoes, and supplies. Jackie toured the campus of the middle school which is the largest Dragon’s Heart School project yet. On September 20th, Jackie and the team will fly to Inner Mongolia for more Dragon’s Heart Charity events.

Jackie always schedules charity trips for the times he is between filming. This trip is the most extensive he's taken so far. If you would like to learn a little more about the Dragon's Heart Foundation's Build a School for a Dollar Project, click here.
