Jackie Donates 450 Coats to China Snow Relief Effort
Jackie visited the Salvation Army in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong today to lend support to the victims of the China snowstorms. Along with Outdoor Shop's Lily Li, Jackie donated 450 down coats, which will be distributed immediately by the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army has launched its emergency relief operation for the rural areas in Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Yongzhou City of Hunan Province, and Anhui Province.
On hand to accept the donation was The Salvation Army's Lieutenant Colonel Merv Rowland, who thanked Jackie and Lily for their support. "I believe that without your enthusiastic support, the Army would be unable to meet the needs of such a large number of snowstorm survivors," said Colonel Rowland.
The Red Cross of China is also distributing relief supplies - blankets, winter clothes, winter tents, medicines, candles, food, and drinking water - to affected people.
