Jackie in Korea and Fundraising Concert News

Earthquake Benefit Concert News

To help raise funds for the China earthquake victims, a concert featuring more than 100 celebrities from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Mainland will he held on June 1st at the Pop TV Arena in West Kowloon, Hong Kong between 2.30pm and 10pm. The concert will begin a seven-year long fundraising program called “Artists 512 Fundraising Campaign” to aid earthquake victims. Event spokeswoman Sharon Cheung Po-wah said people could attend the concert for a minimum donation of HK$20, but of course the hope is that people will donate much more than that. Funds raised will be distributed to six charities: UNICEF, Oxfam, The Salvation Army, Red Cross, World Vision, and the Caring for Children Foundation.

On Sunday, many shopping malls in Hong Kong plan to provide panels to let people write personal messages of support and encouragement. These greetings will then be taken and conveyed to children in Sichuan. A second concert is planned for the end of May and will take place on the Mainland in Chengdu.

Jackie's attendance at the June 1st concert is not yet confirmed, but Jaycee Chan will be there as well as dozens of other celebrities.
