Scrapbook

I am in Hong Kong for just one day and even though I am very, very busy, I wanted to share a few things with you while they were still fresh in my mind.

After I got on the plane in Los Angeles, I read through 5 or 6 newspapers and then fell into a deep sleep. All of a sudden BAM! the flight attendant was waking me up to prepare for landing. I couldn't believe how quickly the time went by! I don't think I woke up once between California and Hong Kong.

When I arrived it was morning and I was so anxious and excited as we pulled into the driveway. Why? Jonesie and JJ of course! I've missed them a lot since I've been away and I couldn't wait to see them. When I got out of the car, I called out their names and immediately two horses came galloping right at me (that's how big they looked to me!). WOW!!! They were so huge!! I couldn't believe they grew so much in only a month. I spent some time playing with them and then we had a quick photo session so you can follow their growth. I didn't want to leave them so soon after I got home, but I had so many things to do and not much time to do them.

I wanted to hold both of them together but you can see that was impossible!

The puppies think they're still little - look how they sit in my lap.

JJ is on my right and Jonesie on my left.

After I took a shower, we drove up to the JC Studio so I could see something really amazing - two vases which were given to me as a gift from the Guangdong Tourism Board. They are supposed to be the world's tallest pair of vases (they're almost 16 feet tall). They had to find a special oven to bake them in and went through five pairs of vases before they got the perfect set (the first five pairs cracked in the oven during the baking). I really wanted to show you how beautiful they are!

It's good there's a tall ceiling at the studio.

These vases have to be displayed in pairs.

After we left JC Studio, I went over to my loft to check and make sure everything was okay. When we were all done I felt better - I had seen my dogs, checked the vases, and looked at my loft. I felt like everything was okay with the world - ha ha! Unfortunately I had something to do which I was really not looking forward to: a visit from the doctor AGAIN!

Everytime I begin a new film, I have to have all kinds of blood tests and other tests for the production. Even though I just had all this done only a few months ago for Rush Hour 3, I had to do it all over again for the J & J Project. I don't mind most of the exam - the doctor takes blood pressure, listens to the heart, etc. But of course that's not where it ends. He takes out his giant rubber band to wrap around my upper arm and comes at me with a really big and sharp NEEDLE to draw blood. Most of my fans know how I feel about needles, and if you don't, all you have to do is look at the photos to see how I feel. (*big sigh*)  But it's required, so I have to do it.

(Jackie is waiting for the doctor to draw the blood and he knows what's coming.)

Thank God that was over quickly. (My webmaster wanted me to give some captions for the doctor's visit photos, but I wouldn't look at them.) Anyway, once we were finished with that, I had a quick meeting to discuss some business, then I sat down to write this note (well, dictate this note) and now I have to go to China. I'm going to the 2006 Guangdong International Tourism and Culture Festival in Guangzhou. Wu Yi, the Vice Premiere of China, will be there and I thought that it was very important to come back to China for this event since I'm so involved with promoting tourism.

I have so many more things I want to show you, but there isn't a lot of time. Maybe soon I will share some more. Oh! One more thing. Katharine asked me what these photos were all about:

On the last night of shooting in Paris, we were up on the Eiffel Tower and all of a sudden thousands of birds were flying around. They were landing everywhere and they seemed confused. Then one of the crew members walked over and handed me this little bird. It sat in my hand for a few minutes and then suddenly took off with the rest of the birds and flew away into the night!

Can you guess who this is? It's my friend Jules' dog Jonesie! Some of you might remember me talking about Jonesie a long time ago - I used to borrow Jonesie from Jules all the time. Jonesie got sick a few years ago, but recovered and he's still going. He is very old now and has trouble walking. It makes me sad that he is getting so old, but I was very happy to see him again!

I have to go now, so bye bye until I see you again in L.A.!

Note: Jackie was very rushed, but he was in great spirits, even after spending so much time on an airplane. He had several cuts and bruises from filming, and his finger was still sore from last week, but otherwise he looked happy and well rested. There were dozens (actually, hundreds) of photos to go through and Jackie wanted to tell a story for many of them. Stay tuned and we'll fill you in whenever he has time. (And don't worry...Jackie didn't scream too loudly when the doctor put the needle in his arm!)
