Jackie Donates Sales Profits to Local Charity

From August 31 to September 2, Jackie's design company took part in a Charity Bazaar at the Olympian City Mall in Hong Kong and donated the proceeds to the Wai Yin Association of Hong Kong. There was a lot of activity and interest in the JC Design products (produced by TideMark) which were being sold. Several times, the crowd became so dense that it was difficult to get close! Jackie tries his best to support as many local charities as possible, and was happy to help the Wai Yin Association.

The Wai Yin Association

In 1982, a group of enthusiastic and warm-hearted contestants and title-holders of the Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageants joined together to form a charitable organization for community services - the Wai Yin Association. Based on the remarkable dedication and efforts made by its members, the Wai Yin Association successfully became a Certified Charity Institution and was approved and recognized by the Government of Hong Kong, SAR, China.

The objectives of the Wai Yin Association are as follows:

• Contribute to charitable works
• Support community services
• Support local cultural activities
• Support artists and promote the arts in Hong Kong
• Foster friendship amongst members
• Promote the international image of Hong Kong

Jackie always says that he will use his time between films to do as much as he can for charity, and he is a man of his word. Immediately upon completion of the filming of The Forbidden Kingdom, Jackie began working on some non-film projects, many of them connected to charity. On September 3rd, he joined Mitsubishi representatives for a charitable concert to raise money for Chinese school children who have dropped out of school. Jackie attended the event as both a spokesman of Mitsubishi Motors and founder of the Dragon's Heart Foundation. Mitsubishi presented him with a check for RMB 1 million (US$132,500).

Jackie was also busy in Beijing recording a solo version of the Olympic song "We Are Ready," working until late into the night to finish.
