From Northern Ireland to Hong Kong Island

Hi everybody,

My name is Michael Wasowski (Mr. Michael, as probably some Japanese fans remember me) and I come from Poland. I've been living and working in Northern Ireland for almost two years, so that's why I entitled my memories like that. There were only two people from my country at the Jackie's tour, me and Monica who I've met just before the party. The thing which suprised me the most at the beginning of the party was that Jackie learned how to welcome us in Polish language ("witajcie serdecznie"). I want to thank you Jackie for that, you said it very well. At the second day of the tour we talked to Willie Chan at one of Jackie's offices and he asked us if Jackie said it right and told us that they had to call to Polish embassy to find out how to greet just two Polish people in their native language. Sorry, for a little fuss we have done.
Before Jackie came on stage there had been (in my opinion) a breathtaking drums introduction. I liked this part very much because I had a chance to play on Chinese big drum when I took a part in lion dance competition few years ago. Apart of this, it was a great introduction for entry of a real dragon.

Jackie Chan was always someone great for me, the person I admire, someone unique. But I have never ever thought that he would give me (not only me but many other people who feel the same way too) the opportunity to meet him. Jackie you are the person who had made my dream come true. I think there is no person on this earth (especially the person practising martial arts) who doesn't know Jackie Chan. I was brought up on Jackie's movies. I have been practicing martial arts since I was a kid so like others I learned from him (learned from the best) a lot. Every time when I was watching his stunts I always said WOW to myself. And another thing is that all of his movies are full of great sense of humor. Jackie is a living legend for me. He's like history which is still creating itself, a history which writes a new page every day and continues for us. That's why it was an honor to meet not only a super star but also a master. This trip to Hong Kong had a huge influence on me. Now it's completly different to watch Jackie Chan on TV knowing that you met him (and his stunt team) even if it was just a hand shake or photo which is now framed, hanging on the wall. Everything that has happend in Hong Kong recently is unforgetable for the rest of my life. The idea of the tour was super. It's also completely different to train martial arts now because such a moment (unfortunately) in my life gives me a motivation to practise harder. My visit to Hong Kong was divided in two parts.

First was without doubt meeting with Jackie Chan and the second - exploring the city. I remember that just after arriving to Hong Kong I wanted to spend every minute for sightseeing. Even after registration at the Waterloo Road, Kath and Fibe told me to come back to hotel and rest for the next day. I said there is no chance I would do that because Hong Kong is too exciting to sit in my room, the more so as I had only few days to enjoy this beautiful and modern city. I always wanted to see people practising Tai Chi in the park very early in the morning. So me, Monica (Jura) and our friend Martin went to the park at 6:00 am to see it. This is unbelievable that Chinese people, particularly old ones, do it every morning.

Jackie's charity work is amazing just like his stunts. The way how he cares about human beings was the next thing which really touched me. When he showed us a video from places where he helped children and old people and many others in need I realised there is a second Jackie Chan. Of course I knew about that Jackie's activity but it is different being close to him, seeing him and talking about these very sad things. At that moment I could feel these people's suffering but simultaneously the joy which Jackie brought for them. That's why I admire him, because every single thing he does he gives 100% from himself. When I was a kid I remember Jackie's doing breathtaking stunts, now I also know him as a fantastic charity worker. Never stop Jackie!!

I would like to thank everybody who worked for this adventure. Thank you Kath and Fibe, (I hope we'll meet again) and everybody whose names I don't know or don't remember. I also want to thank Russian fans for pendant (with Jackie's photo) which they gave me last day at the end of the tour (I visited your website). I'm looking forward to next outstanding things from Jackie Chan.
All the best,
Mr. Michael
