SONGS FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS (JUNE 5, 2008)
On May 12th, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit China's Sichuan Province, killing over 80,000 people and leaving 5 million homeless. Since then, Jackie been working tirelessly to help the victims; visiting the disaster zone, raising money and awareness, and using all of his influence and contacts all over the world to mobilize people in the effort to support everyone who was affected by the earthquake.
As many of you know, Jackie has recorded several songs for the earthquake victims and he would like to share one with you. He hopes that all of his fans will listen to "Shengsi Bu Li" and remember that China still needs your help. He asked us to put together a slide show of photos to accompany the song "Shengsi Bu Li." We've also translated the lyrics. Here are the photos:
Here is a translation:
Shengsi Bu Li
Dead or alive I won’t leave you,
Where has your dream fallen,
Thinking about continuing to live.
The sky has lost its beauty,
But you’re still waiting for your dream to rise tomorrow,
Your calls are engraved in my blood stream.
Dead or alive I won’t leave you,
Every second I wait for your news,
Believing that life never gives up,
Praying with you and breathing together.
I can’t see you but my heart worries for you,
Seeing the sparkle in your eyes means everything to me.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The blood in our veins can create miracles,
Living is the meaning of life.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
Hand holding hand,
Dead or alive I won’t leave you.
Dead or alive I won’t leave you,
The whole world has become silent,
Even if you’re suffering, you don’t cry.
Love is your legendary story,
A rainbow will rise strongly after the storm,
While giving my best efforts, I witnessed the strength of love.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The blood in our veins can create miracles,
The mountains are still standing tall.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The sky has split open,
I will sew it back together.
Your glimmer of hope is my whole motivation!
I put my hands together and build the foundation for your road home!
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The blood in our veins can create miracles,
Living is the meaning of life.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
Hand holding hand,
Dead or alive I won’t leave you.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The blood in our veins can create miracles,
The mountains are still standing tall.
No matter where you are,
I must find you,
The sky has split open,
I will sew it back together.
Hand holding hand,
Dead or alive I won’t leave you.
Another Song; Another Idea to Raise Money for Victims
Recently, Jackie's son Jaycee Chan wrote a song for his grandfather Charles, who passed away in February, 2008. When Jackie heard it, he felt that the song was very relevant to the 5.12 earthquake and wanted to share it with everyone. Therefore, with Jaycee's blessing, we are making the song available for free download here on our website. We have one request, however. If you download the song, please make a donation to the Dragon's Heart Foundation to help rebuild the schools in Sichuan Province. We trust that you will honor our request and make any size donation if you take Jaycee's song.
Click here to download the song.
While you're waiting for it to download, please click here to make a donation (choose "Dragon's Heart Foundation Build a School Project" from the menu). If you are not able to donate online, please send it to our office:

Backstage at the 512 concert in Hong Kong, Jaycee sings "Safe Journey"

Jaycee handed out free copies of his new song.
Safe Journey
by Jaycee Chan
Go straight, don’t look back
You are suffering and want to leave
You held my hand when I was a child
You patted my head; told me I was your treasure
Have a safe journey
I will remember everything about you
Remember what I had
Have a safe journey
Fly to the sky and don’t look back
Go straight, don’t look back
You are suffering and want to leave
You held my hand when I was a child
You pat my head; tell me I’m a good boy
Have a safe journey
I will miss you always
And treasure what I had
Have a safe journey
I will miss the times you held my hand when I was a child
I cry; can’t speak
I take your hand; I am with you for your final journey
Have a safe journey
Fly to the sky and don’t look back
No demands, not tired
No good, no bad
No sickness, no pain
Not empty, not filled
No right, no wrong
Not less, not more
No life, no death
No black, no white
Don’t go if you love me
Those selfish words I can’t speak out loud
I cry and am sorrowful
I see your weak breath until the end
Please leave safely
Having you in my life made me so happy
After 100 years, we promised to meet in Heaven
Have a safe journey
Please send my warm regards to the others you see
After 100 years, we promised to meet in Heaven
